October 7, 2007 Friends of the Children was chosen as one of the charities for the 36th Annual Portland Marathon. Individuals, families, and teams of employees are encouraged to sign up to be an Official Charity Athlete for our community’s most at-risk children. The event offers numerous events for all fitness levels including the 10k Mayor’s Walk, a five Mile Run, and the Marafun Kid’s Run. Promote your support of Friends of the Children to your friends and loved ones and ask them to make a pledge.
